TCL 50QM5K: 50-inch QD-Mini LED Google TV
The TCL 50QM5K is a 50-inch class 4K smart TV with a 60Hz native panel, 3 HDMI inputs and Google TV. Its viewable screen measures 49.5 inches diagonally. Mini LED backlighting and quantum dot color form the QM5K picture system.
Picture technology and 4K detail
The Mini LED backlight uses local dimming to adjust different areas of the picture. TCL Halo Control manages light across the screen. The panel resolution is 3840 x 2160. A native 4K source can show fine textures, small objects and text across the screen, while lower-resolution sources depend more on the TV's processing and the quality of the recording. Picture processing adapts incoming sources to the screen. It can refine the incoming picture, but it cannot recover every detail absent from a low-quality source.

Check picture quality from the seats you use most, with the usual room lights turned on. The 50-inch class designation describes the screen diagonal, not the cabinet width. Consider the distance to the main seat, the height of the furniture and bright windows when choosing a position. The included remote gives access to smart TV menus and source selection.
